A Message from Our Director

Dear Will Carleton Academy Families,

I hope this email finds you enjoying the last few days of summer. The faculty and staff have spent the last two days together building relationships and preparing for WCA’s 25th year of excellence! The energy has been awesome!

During our time together for professional development this week, there have been several

noticeable voids on our team. As you may already know, schools across our country are experiencing difficulty filling vacancies and Will Carleton Academy is not exempt from that challenge. Over the past few days we have had a few unexpected departures among our full-time faculty and staff, and this shortage is causing the need to consider creative options for a solution.

Will Carleton Academy administration, with the support of the board of directors, has determined that it is necessary to delay the start of our academic year. We will start school on Monday, August 29, 2022 instead of on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 to provide the faculty and administration with some additional time for planning and preparation. During this time our staff will be fully engaged in this work to ensure that your students have a successful start for the 2022/23 school year. It is our sincere hope that this time will also give us the opportunity to add some committed educators to our faculty!

Will Carleton Academy’s school family has weathered many storms together and we have every confidence that we will come through this challenge with your continued trust and support. Our staff is committed to work tirelessly to be fully prepared and confident as we greet each of our 290+ students on Monday, August 29th. We will raise the flag at 8:10 am, and are eager to begin our school’s 25th year.

I am grateful for your commitment to WCA. Thank you for the opportunity to educate your children each day. It is a gift that the faculty and I do not take for granted.

Be well,
Colleen Vogt
