WCA Student is Second in the Nation to Pass CyberDefense Course

Ryan Saunders, a senior at Will Carleton Academy in Hillsdale, became the second student in the country to pass the TestOut course in Cyber Defense on Thursday the 7th.

In an email to the Hillsdale Daily News, Saunders said, “This means a lot to me as my work on this program has paid off and will benefit me in the future. After I graduate, I want to enter the cybersecurity work field where I can put my skills to the test.”

TestOut’s cybersecurity course teaches students how to perform several tasks that may come of use in their professional futures, and is made available to all second-year cybersecurity students through the Hillsdale Area Career Center. This makes it all the more impressive that one of our own Will Carleton Cougars is the second of what will be many to enter a student and exit a work-ready specialist.
