In 1995, Wayne RESA became the first ISD in Michigan to authorize, or charter a public school academy. RESA now authorizes seven public school academies that are unique in mission and focus and are committed to offering high quality, diverse educational alternatives to meet the needs of the students they serve. RESA’s prides itself in authorizing public school academies that maintain an academic program that is both unique and supported by the local school district where it is located.
