Parent Forum

At the core of our academic philosophy rests the belief that parental involvement is critical to students’ academic success and character development. With this in mind, the school pledges to foster parental involvement in the education of all students at Will Carleton Academy.

The Parent Forum serves Will Carleton Academy’s efforts to build a sense of community, to support and appreciate teachers, and to raise money for projects and events. The purpose of the Parent Forum is to involve parents in the work that will benefit and enrich the students.

Every parent of a Will Carleton Academy student is automatically a member of the Parent Forum. This is not an exclusive club. Everyone is encouraged to take an active role in this community of parents. Attendance of Parent Forum meetings is a great way for parents to support the students, teachers, and staff as well as share thoughts and ideas with the rest of the community. Parental involvement is crucial to the success of the school, which is why Will Carleton Academy actively seeks out comments and suggestions from the parents of students.

This year, the Parent Forum will continue to meet monthly but will only have a business meeting every other month. On the alternate months, the forum gatherings will consist mainly of social time, sharing comments and suggestions, hearing form Mrs. Vogt, and possibly discussing a relevant topic or issue. The business meetings will follow a more structured agenda and run a formal meeting.
